Well, I bought a wetsuit for $20 bucks and went with Rich and Sean to Chrissy Field, where I hopped into the water and tested out my finely honed swimming abilities. Needless to say, I nearly drowned. The water in the bay was something like 55 deg F, and as soon as I entered, even with my wetsuit and neoprene cap, I was gasping for air. I tried to do the freestyle I’ve been practicing, but it’s hard to swim freestyle when you can’t breathe. Anyway, I think I swam about 800 yards, but most of it was doggy paddle, and I think I swallowed about 3 cups of algae infested ocean water.
