Girl thrown in jail for ringing cellphone.

I heart Jeff Tedford. For those of you who have been living in a barn, or hiding under a rock, Jeff Tedford is the illustrious football coach at Berkeley. In three years, he has brought our football program back to our rightful (if long vacated) position at the top of the college football world. (or close to it) After all, who better to rule college football than the best public school in the country, that is in the biggest state in the country? Surely we can all agree on this point.

Here is a link to an article which describes how my beloved Mr. Tedford set about turning around a 1-10 program. You need to register to read it, but it’s worth it. So worth it…

It’s taken about a week, but I am now fully out of my depressed funk following the election. I briefly entertained the notion of moving to Canada, but as it turns out, “you just can’t come into Canada and say ‘I’m going to stay here’. In other words, there has to be an application. There has to be a reason why the person is coming to Canada.” This is according to Canada immigration ministry spokeswoman Maria Iadinardi.

Why should we cede the country to the red states anyway? If we liberals leave, conservatives will be free to drill for oil using rigs powered by baby-seal souls, and kill gays. Did you know conservatives like to kill hoe-moe-seks-chuels? Seriously.

So we have to stay. And next election, 2006, we have to win. But how do we win the hearts of people who we can’t stand to even look in the eye anymore? I posed this to my friend Doug, and he pointed me to thisarticle, which is pretty good. It makes the point that we Democrats and liberals are essentially losing because we can’t articulate and package what we stand for in a way that appeals to middle America, which is not so much evil, as just kind of hard to get through to. Take a look and see what you think.
